GLOBAL SUBMISSION CALL: Foreign_A (Print)

We are currently accepting submissions for an exciting new print project, titled #Foreign_A (Foreign Affair); a visual exploration of the sub-cultures of our countries and their people. A regular printed soft-back zine with one or more per country throughout the series, including  #English_A, #American_A, #Spanish_A, #Russian_A, #Canadian_A, #German_A and more besides.  

BRIEF
We are looking for single or a series of images from each country,  something that is symbolic of that country, it’s culture, its political system, it’s buildings or its people. We prefer analogue / film / instant / polaroid images, but will accept digital and instagram pics (in hi-res) that look authentic and fit our aesthetic (mood board at bottom of page).

GUIDELINES
Please note we are not looking for anything contrived – please keep it authentic. We are looking for unpublished works, but we don’t mind images mixed in from your archives or your website/blog, so long as they have not been published in other magazines. Ideas include chavs, toffs, spring-break, country life, parties, students, disposable cameras, skin heads, gypsies, artists, dancers, beauty pageants, teddy boys, goths, music/art festivals, LGBT parties, carnivals, sports events, sports men/women, beach bums, beach babes, industrial landscapes – basically anything relating to the culture/sub-culture of that country that is visually interesting will be considered.

There are no restrictions – artistic/trashy nudity and controversy are allowed, but not images of a violent/pornographic nature. If your submission is successful, we request that you do not post the images until after we publish.

-and include in the subject line your country of choice, for example “ENGLISH_A SUBMISSION” for England and “GERMAN_A” for Germany, so on and so forth.

We are happy to publish a single image per submission, but will consider a full series of up to 20 images. If you prefer to send a larger selection for us to choose from, we are happy to look at them and edit down.
