FAME: SUBMISSION CALL

fame_call1

We are currently accepting submissions for #FAME – a soft back book symbolising a sign of our times –  fame, celebrity and the culture of reality shows

BRIEF
We ask the question’s, “What would you do to be famous” and “How far would you go?” – then we ask you to show us in pictures. This submission call is to be looked upon as tongue-in-cheek, jovial and fun – it’s not just open to photographers, but also to anybody who wishes to be famous or is drawn to the spectacle of fame – models, actors, actresses, singers, musicians, sports people, reality stars or every day people! We will accept professional images, amateur, self-portraits, college/uni projects, camera phone images, instagram, hipstamatic, paparazzi, even holiday snaps! – but they must be of reasonable size/quality for our print press. Images can be real or make-believe – let’s cross those boundaries with fantasy. Polaroid, instant and point and shoot particularly welcome.

The identity of the book will be young, outlandish, visual with cool typography.

GUIDELINES
Both digital and analogue images will be considered, and we are generally requesting mono/bw images – we will be publishing about a third of the book in bright colour so will only consider colour images that are striking. Nudity is allowed, both male and female, and there are few restrictions but please note we are not looking for anything too contrived, with over-the-top retouching – please keep it authentic, artistic and raw. All those featured in the images must be over 18 years of age.

Please send your submissions to:

submit@artandsmoke.com

and include in the subject line “FAME”

We are happy to publish a single image per submission, up to eight, and will consider more if they are better represented in series. If you prefer to send a larger selection for us to choose from, we are happy to do so.
